Q: Is the Alamedin Gorge hike suitable for beginners?

A: Yes โ€” this is one of the most beginner-friendly hikes near Bishkek. The trail has a gentle gradient, is well-marked, and the total round-trip distance is about 11 km. Children aged 8+ can comfortably complete it.

Q: What is the Teke-Tor Waterfall?

A: Teke-Tor (which means ‘goat’s horns’ in Kyrgyz) is a spectacular mountain waterfall in the Alamedin Gorge, fed by glacial springs high in the Tian Shan range. It flows year-round but is most powerful in Mayโ€“July.

A: Yes! There is a natural pool at the base of the waterfall. The water is cold (fed by glacial melt), but on a warm summer day it is extremely refreshing. Bring a swimming costume.
